The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (formerly known as National Centre for Plant Genome Research) is an autonomous institution aided by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute's establishment coincides with the 50th anniversary of India's independence as well as birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose. The formal announcement was made on November 30th 1997. This Institute has already placed India among the major contributors to plant genomics. It is hoped that in coming years, the ongoing efforts of NIPGR will allow India to emerge as one of the most important national and international resource institutes for material, knowledge and technologies in the areas of functional, structural, evolutionary and applied genomics of plants, including crop plants.

Candidates are invited to appear in a walk-in-interview before a selection committee for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA) in the ‘Short-Term Research Fellowships / Post-Doctorate Fellowships’ programme of the Institute and one Technical Assistant in the DBT project entitled “Plant Analytical Platform for Phytohormones and Low Abundant Molecular (PAPM)”, under ‘Research Resources, Service Facilities and Platforms (RREFP) under the supervision of Dr. Jyothilakshmi Vadassery, Scientist, NIPGR.

Research Associate (RA) 01 post
Emoluments : Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms)
Eligibility : Candidates having doctorate (Ph. D.) degree in the discipline of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology or equivalent with strong publication record can apply. Experience in working on plant defense is desirable.

Technical Assistant (TA) 01 post
Emoluments : Rs 25,000/- p.m. plus HRA
Eligibility : The candidate must possess M. Sc. / M.Tech. degree in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology / Chemistry or a related field (minimum 60% marks), duly supported with research work. The candidate will be involved in day-to-day running of the Metabolome Facility.

The Fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST and as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the Scheme/Project. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year or till the tenability of the Scheme/Project whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated any time by giving a month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 02:00 p.m., along with complete bio-data.

The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 02:00 p.m. to 03:00 p.m. on January 24, 2020. The candidate reporting after 03:00 p.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, original degree certificates, experience certificate, etc. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
