NIPER-Guwahati is the fifth Institute of National Importance on Pharmaceutical Education under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. The NIPER-Guwahati started functioning from the month of September, 2008. The Institute is presently housed at the NIPS, Mirza, Kamrup, Assam (The institute will shift to its permanent campus at Changsari, Kamrup, Assam) with an excellent facility for advanced Education and Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Presently the Institute is offering M.S (Pharm.) and Ph. D. Programmes in five different branches namely Pharmacology & Toxicology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy Practices, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmaceutics.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Minimum Educational qualifications / skills / experience : Essential: Post graduate degree in Professional Course such as M.Pharm/MS/MSc in Pharmacology & Toxicologyy with 55% marks through CSIR-UGC NET, GATE or National Level Examinations conducted by DBT or ICMR etc.,
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in neuropharmacology, cell culture experiments, basic molecular techniques, Animal handling etc., Preference will be given to the candidates having minimum of 2 international publications in peer reviewed journals as first author.
Project Assistant
Project & Funding Agency : “Integrated Information System to Interpret, Integrate and mitigation of cardio metabolic health care in North east tribes of Assam and Mizoram”
Duration : 2.6 Years (30 Months)
Salary : 31000/- consolidated
Project : ICMR
Upper Age Limit (Yr.) : 30
Minimum Educational qualifications / skills / experience : Essential: Graduate in Life Science or Pharmaceutical sciences from a recognized university with three years’ experience or Master’s degree in Pharmacology / Biotechnology / clinical pharmacology / biochemistry and other relevant subject from a recognized university.
Desirable :
• Preference will be given to the candidate having experience in clinical sample handling, clinical research, community related work specially to deal with tribals of NE states.
• The selected candidate is also expected to organize, manage the project work and assist day to day research work to facilitate and manage the project work.
• He/she should be expert in blood withdrawing, biological sample processing and storage
• He/she should be able speak local language Assamese.
• Selected person should be willing to travel tribal areas.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
a. HRA is admissible to JRF/RA only and not to Project Assistant positions. The admissibility will be as per Central Govt. norms applicable in the city/location where they are working. The percentage required for calculating HRA will be based on the fellowship amount.
b. The positions are not entitled to any other allowances.
c. The positions shall be governed by the disciplinary regulations including leave as per rules adopted by the Host Institute where he/she is working.
d. The Director reserves the right to withdraw the post so advertised at any time without assigning any reason.

f. No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication will be entertained.
g. Upper age limit will be relaxed up to 5 years for reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) and up to 3 years for OBC – Non-creamy layer candidates. Age will be relaxed for maximum of 5 years to the meritorious candidates (having good publications in SCI journals).
h. Appointment is temporary and contractual in nature on fixed / consolidated salary and is renewable based on their performance and mutual consent for every year. The candidate will have no right to claim for regular appointment in the Institute.
i. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
j. The process of selection may include presentation / seminar / written test / interview or as may be decided by the Selection Committee.
k. Age, Qualification, Experience etc. will be as on date of interview.
