For quite a few years since the Rio-Summit, 1992 there have been discussions at various local forum about the requirement of a capable institution to take care of the rich biodiversity of Manipur and its surrounding areas. The inclusion of the North East Region in the list of Mega-biodiversity hot-spots of the world caused an ever increased fillip to the researchers, resource planners, environmental enthusiasts and the local think- tanks about stopping depletion of biodiversity in the region and finding scientific ways of sustainable uses of bioresources.

Junior Research fellow (1 post)
Emoluments per month : Rs. 25,000/- plus HRA/ month for Masters in Basic Science with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course For Non NET candidate Rs. 12,000 + HRA for holding Masters degree only
Essential requirements : Post graduation with minimum 55% in Biotechnology/ Botany/ Microbiology/ Environment Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Life sciences/ Forestry/ Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Plant ecology/ Tissue culture/ Pharmacy or any relevant field.

1. Selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointment either in IBSD, Meghalaya and its branches or DBT, New Delhi.
2. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview
3. Duration: 03 years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
4. The upper age limit for is 28 years (relaxable for reserved categories a per GoI norms).
5. Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in interview with all original and photo copies of certificates along with filled up forms and two passport photo at 09.30 a.m. on 19th December, 2018.
