Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology.
Applications are invited for temporary position of One (01) Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one (01) Research Associate (RA) under the DBT Project entitled “Establishment of Institutional Level Biotech Hubs (IBThubs) by DBT under Special Programme for North Eastern States of India under the ‘Institutional Level Biotech Hubs (IBThubs), (Advanced Level)” under Dr. Shashi Baruah, Professor, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University. The priority area of Biotech Hub is Disease Biology and the area of specialization is human diseases. Interested candidates may apply with self-attested photocopies of mark sheets, certificates from 10th standard onwards, testimonials, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate, NET/GATE/BET or similar examination qualifications and a copy of recent signed Curriculum Vitae (CV) within 07.01.2019.
Senior Research Fellow
Essential Qualifications: Eligibility prescribed for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) as per DBT guidelines with two years of research experience. (Eligibility for JRF-First Class M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Life Sciences / BioMedical Sciences / BioSciences OR post graduate degree in Professional course MD / MS / MDS). Preference will be given to the candidates with NET / BET / GATE.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in Clinical Research, Human Diseases (Immunology / Molecular Biology / Pharmacology / Genetics / Microbiology of Human Diseases)
Fellowship: Rs. 28,000/- (Rupees twenty eight thousand) only plus 10% HRA as admissible per month for candidates with NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualification or Post Graduate degree in Professional course, otherwise (candidates without NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualification) Rs. 14,000/- (Rupees fourteen thousand) only plus 10% HRA as admissible per month.
Age Limit: Candidate shall not be more than 32 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Government of India rules.
Duration: Initially for a period of one (01) year and extendable till completion of the project based on the performance of the candidate or until further order, whichever is earlier.
Research Associate
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation lndexed (SCl) journal.
Desirable: Experience in Clinical Research/Pharmaceutical Research/Human diseases (Molecular Biology /Genetics/Immunology/ Microbiology of Human Diseases)
Fellowship: Rs. 36,000/ (Rupees Thirty six thousand) only plus 10% HRA as admissible per month as per DBT guidelines.
Age Limit: Candidate shall not be more than 40 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Government of India rules.
Duration: Initially for a period of one (01) year and extendable till completion of the project based on the performance of the candidate or until further order, whichever is earlier.
N.B.
(1) No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
(2) Those in employment or doing Ph.D. must submit ‘No Objection Certificate from the concerned employer / Ph.D. Supervisor
