National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences is a multidisciplinary Institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. The Lunatic Asylum which came into being in the latter part of the 19th Century was renamed as Mental Hospital in 1925 by the erstwhile Government of Mysore. This hospital and All India Institute of Mental Health established in 1954 by Government of India were amalgamated on 27th December 1974, and thus was formed the autonomous National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS).
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of ‘’Junior Research Fellow’’ on Contract basis for a DBT-funded project entitled “Molecular characterization of X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy: Unravelling the role of modifier genes” under Dr.Rita Christopher, Professor, Department of Neurochemistry & PI.
Educational Qualification : M.Sc Degree in Biochemistry /Biotechnology /Bioinformatics/or equivalent with NET qualification /DBT BET category-II or M.Tech Biotechnology or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in NGS-based DNA sequencing and data analysis.
Maximum age limit : 35 years
Emoluments : Rs 25, 000/- per month + 30 % /- HRA
Duration of the Project : 3 years.
Initial appointment will be for 6 months. Tenure will be renewed after satisfactory performance.
