North-Eastern Hill University was set up by an Act of Parliament and notified on 19th July 1973. The objectives of the University, as laid down in the act, are "to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the hill areas of the North-eastern region, and in particular, the intellectual, academic and cultural advancement".

Applications are invited for the post of JRF/SRF in a DBT-Twinning project entitled “Comparative analysis of Red Blood Cell Antigen typing among the indigenous populations of Meghalaya and native population of Mumbai” under Dr. B. T. Langstieh, Department of Anthropology, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya in collaboration with North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences and National Institute of Immunohaematology, Mumbai.

Qualification: M.Sc. in Anthropology / Zoology / Biotechnology / Pharmacology with minimum 55% marks.
The emoluments will be paid as per DBT sanction Order.
Age limit: Upper age limit is 28 years which is relaxed upto 5 years in case of ST/SC/Women/Physically Handicap & OBC.
Field location: Tura, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya
