Qualifications
Sr. Project Associate
Essential : (i) Master’s degree in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Natural / Agricultutal Sciences / MVSc or bachlor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent with 4 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and service. OR (ii) Docotoral Degree in microbiology / biotechnology / chemical engineering etc.
Desirable : (i) Preferably doctoral degree in microbiology/ biotechnlogy/ chemical engineering. (ii) First class in MSc/M.tech (iii) Research papers in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals (iv) Experience in pretreatment, saccharification and fermentation of biomass (v) Experience in Aseptic handling of anaerobic bacteria (vi) Experience in process optimization for production of biohydrogen/biomethane / biothanol
Project Assistant
Essential : First Class B.Sc/B.Tech in microbiology/biotechnology/ chemical engineering.
Desirable : (i) First calss in M.Sc
(ii) Experience in anaerobic microbiology
(iii) Experience in production of biohydrogen/biomethane/ anaerobic digestion
Monthly stipend : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for Sr. Project Associate
Rs. 20,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for Project Assistant
Age limit (as on date of interview)
i) Sr Project Associate : 40 years as on closing date of advt.
ii) Project Assistant : 50 years as on closing date of advt.

3. The prescribed essential qualifications are the bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. The Institute reserves the right to select a suitable candidate.
4. In the case of deserving and exceptionally qualified candidates, desirable qualifications are relaxed at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
