Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a time bound research project sponsored by the CSIR (37WS(0108)/2023-24/EMR- II/ASPIRE) for a temporary period purely on contractual basis as per the following details.

Project Title : "Understanding the therapeutic potential of modulating endoplasmic reticulum ER stress and autophagy in human brain cancer cells undergoing epithelial to mesenchymal transition EMT
Funding Agency : Council of Industrial and Scientific Research (CSIR)
Principal Investigator (PI) : Dr. Sudeshna Mukherjee, Department of Biological Sciences, Cancer Biology Lab
Project Tenure : 3 Years (2 Years JRF+ 1 Year SRF thereafter after evaluation)
Job Description : The candidate will study the effect of small molecule inhibitors on modulating autophagy and ER stress on cancer cell metastasis. He/she will also write research papers in indexed journals, conferences, and patents.
Qualification : First class in Master's Degree with specialization in Biotech / Cancer Biology / Epigenetics / Molecular Biology / Cell Biology / Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from a recognized University with good knowledge of molecular biology + GATE / NET / GPAT / DST/ DBT / ICMR qualified ONLY or with a HIGHER / Professional Degree MUST HAVE : GATE/NET qualified or either ME/M-TECH/M- Pharm/Professional Degree holder
Desirable : Research experience in handling cell culture and associated molecular biology assay
Upper Age Limit with Age Relaxation : Age not exceeding 28 years. The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.
Fellowship : 37,000/- (initially first two years) per month for GATE/NET-qualified candidates.
Registration for PhD. : Selected candidates may be permitted to register for the PhD program of BITS Pilani subject to fulfilling the requirements of the PhD qualification process as per the institute norms.
