Anna University was established on 4th September, 1978 as a unitary type of University. This University was named after Late Dr.C.N.Annadurai, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Post : Project Scientist - I (Comnutational)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following research positions in Department of Biotechnology. Government of India sponsored project entitled “Structural informatics and chemical biology - Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Centre (BIC) at Department of Biotechnology, Anna University Chennai” under the supervision of Dr.B.S.Lakshmi, Associate professor, Anna University, Chennai-25 for a period of One Year or till the end of the project.
Essential Qualification : i) Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Structural Biology / Biotechnology / Biopharmaceutical Technology / Biochemistry' from a recognized Institute / University.
ii) Desirable One year of experience in Computational Biology / Bioinformatics / Computer aided drug discovery and development research. Good knowledge and experience in Molecular Docking, Modelling, Virtual Screening, Molecular Dynamics simulations, using Open-source and commercial software packages.
Job Responsibilities
Project Scientist will be responsible for carrying out research activities in the field of Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and emerging computational technologies, needed for the project. Candidate will also work with the Project Investigators on setting up and planning, development and maintenance of the computational facility. The candidate may be engaged in teaching/ training on the topics of Bioinformatics/ Computational biology, maintaining labs, assist in maintaining High-Performance Computing Cluster facility and as a system analyst. In addition, they may be assigned any suitable task by the Project Investigators of the project.
Upper Age Limit (Years) : 35
Emoluments per month : Rs. 56,000/- + 24% HRA With 5% of increment with every two years of experience subject to performance review.
