Applications are invited from the eligible candidates, for filling up the posts of Junior Research Fellow on contract basis in the SERB funded project entitled “Role of Caveolins as Potential Target for Neuroprotection in Epilepsy” under Dr. Yogananda S. Markandeya, Assistant Professor, Department of Biophysics & Principal Investigator.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Essential Qualification : (i) M.Sc or M.Tech or M.Phil degree in Life sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Physics / Biophysics / Chemistry with a good academic record
(ii) Qualified NET / GATE/ JGEEBILS / ICMR / INSPIRE or equivalent
Experience : Candidates with some experience of molecular biology are encouraged to apply.
Desirable : (i) One or two years research experience in the relevant field.
Maximum Age Limit : 28 years
Emoluments : Rs. 31,000/- + 30% HRA per month
Nature of Work : The project covers extensive electrophysiology (patch-clamp) and fluorescence imaging in rodent brain slices (acute), and in primary cultures. Extensive qRT-PCR, western blotting, gene transfection, are required.
Duration of Project : 01 year
Duration of the Post : Initial appointment will be made for a period of 06 months and will be extended further depending upon the performance of the candidate.
