National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.At the time of its golden jubilee in 1969, it was renamed as National Institute of Nutrition (NIN).
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of JRF (Leading to PhD) for research projects as mentioned below at ICMR-NIN.
Project details: "Maternal exposure of endocrine disrupter Biphenol A : implication to development programming of glucose homeostasis and insulin resistance in the fetus" at National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad.
Essential qualification: 1st Class M.Sc., in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Zoology / Life Science / Nutrition from recognized University qualified in ICMR/DST/CSIR/DBT/UGC-Net JRF exam with fellowship. Candidates without fellowship need not apply.
Age : Below 28 years as on 12th September, 2019
Fellowship : As per rules of ICMR/CSIR/DBT/DST/UGC who are qualified Net-JRF with fellowship.
The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications, ICMR/CSIR/DST/DBT-NET JRF-fellowship qualified letter and caste along with a set of photo copies of the same and a latest passport size photo and complete bio-data while attending the personal discussion/interview. No TA/DA will be paid for this purpose.
General Conditions: ICMR/DST/CSIR/DBT/UGC Fellowship Rules are applicable for the above JRF position. The selected candidate will have no right to claim for any regular employment at this Institute. The Director has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
Applications will be received from the individuals on 12th September. 2019 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. in the Assembly Hall at NIN, Tarnaka, Hyderabad for Walk-in-Interview. Late applications will not be entertained after 10:30 A.M. under any circumstances. The application form will be provided to the candidates at NIN on the date of Walk-in- Written Test/ Interview.
