Life Sciences, biotechnology, genetics opportunity at CSKHPKV

Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (renamed as Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in June, 2001) was established on 1st November, 1978.The College of Agriculture (established in May, 1966) formed the nucleus of the new farm University. It is Indian Council of Agricultural Research accredited institution and the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Education; Govt. of India has ranked this University at 14th position among all agriculture and allied sector institutions of the country. Among all State Agriculture Universities of the country, the University is placed at 8th rank. The University has been given the mandate for making provision for imparting education in agriculture and other allied branches of learning, furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of research and undertaking extension of such sciences, especially to the rural people of Himachal Pradesh.

Post : Project Associate II / Senior Research Fellow (Co-terminus with the project)

This Department intends to offer the fellowship under the adhoc project entitled ““Germplasm characterization and Trait Discovery in Wheat using Genomics Approaches and its Integration for Improving Climate Resilience, Productivity and Nutritional quality” under mission programme of “Characterisation of Genetics Resources” with sub project 2, component (vi) entitled “Evaluation of available ‘Wheat core Set’ against virulent races of powdery mildew & Validation of identified germplasm lines for powdery mildew resistance over the years (G01-5047-14) The fellowship is co-terminus with the project.

Qualification : Essential:- M.Sc. In Plant Breeding/ Genetics / Plant Pathology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences.
Desirable: - One year experience in handling of research work in breeding/ biotechnology / Plant pathology obtained other than the requirement of any degree.

Remuneration : Rs. 42000/- PM + HRA (9%)

The applications on the prescribed proforma given overleaf completed in all respect along with application fee (Bank Draft in favour of Comptroller CSKHPKV, Palampur) should reach in the office of Head, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, CSKIIPKV, Palampur latest by 30.04.2025 upto 05:00 PM alongwith attested copies of educational certificates. The interview will be held in the office of the undersigned on 02.05.2025 at 11.00 am.

The fellowship is purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the expiry of the project. The candidates are advised to produce the original certificates and other testimonials at the time of interview. No separate interview letter will be issued to the candidates and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
