The Chung research group focuses on drug delivery and gene therapy, nanomedicine, and biomaterials to generate strategies to address the limitations of clinical solutions. A major focus of our work is regarding rare and genetic diseases. In particular, we are interested in biomimetic nanoparticles that can be designed to cross biological barriers and deliver molecular signals to report back on or influence the behavior of diseased tissue. In addition, we are harnessing our expertise in combining bioactive scaffolds with novel stem cell sources for complex regenerative engineering of hierarchically-ordered tissues and organs. Our group is highly interdisciplinary as our research is positioned at the intersection of engineering, biology, and medicine, and we work with a variety of collaborators to translate our materials towards clinical use.

The Chung Lab welcomes applications for postdoctoral candidates and research technicians who are interested in pursuing research in the following areas :
• Nanomedicine
• Biomaterials
• Gene and Drug Delivery
Applicants should have a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related areas. The positions require highly motivated researchers with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members and manage interactions with faculty and a broad range of senior and junior research and clinical collaborators. Experience in nanomedicine/biomaterials, cell culture, and animal experience is not necessary but preferred.
