NIPER Ahmedabad was initiated with three specializations Biotechnology, Natural Products and Pharmaceutics and over the period of time three more specializations Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology and Toxicology were added in 2010. Subsequently in 2011, to cater the needs of Medical device industry in India, another feather was added to the cap of NIPER Ahmedabad in the form of specialization in Medical Devices.

Applications are invited from the eligible and suitable Indian nationals for the position of Project Senior Research Fellow in industry funded project entitled “Role of Triphala and Ashwagandha in protecting mitochondrial health of neurons : A comparative evaluation of its impact on brain function and cognition” on purely contractual basis tenable at Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER- Ahmedabad. Tenure of the position is for 6 months.

Project Title : Role of Triphala and Ashwagandha in protecting mitochondrial health of neurons: A comparative evaluation of its impact on brain function and cognition
Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA (11,3400/-) = Rs. 53,350/- initial appointment will be for one year which may be further extended to three years subjected to the project duration and performance. The positions will co-terminate with the project.
Qualification Essential Qualification
The candidate must have first class in post graduate degree in Pharmacology and toxicology.
A. At least 2 publications as first author in journals of repute
B. Desirable Essential Qualification : Candidate should be familiar with MCAo stroke surgery and knowledge in neuroscience and stroke will be preferred. The candidate must also have experience in various techniques in molecular biology (Cell culture, rt-QPCR, Western-blot, Flow cytometry, RNA extraction, ELISA, Histological staining etc). Should have firsthand experience in small animal handling and surgery, a fair knowledge of molecular mechanism elucidation, statistical data analysis, etc.
