The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Post : Scientific Assistant
Project : To work on a project entitled “Establishment of Signet ring cell Cancer (SRCC) organoids and PDX models to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities”
Educational Qualification : Mandatory : Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or equivalent from a Govt. recognized Institution.
Desirable : Master’s Degree in Life Science or equivalent from a Govt. recognized Institution.
Experience :
Mandatory : 4-6 months experience with cell culture, protein extract preparation, and Western blot analysis.
Desirable : 4-6 months experience with generating tumor xenografts in immunocompromised mice.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 22,000/- per month
Duration : Six Months and Extendable.
The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension after 6 months will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
