Opportunity for M.Pharm, MSc to Join Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).

Post : Project Associate-I [01 Position]

Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Project Associate-I on a purely temporary basis under the CSIR-funded project No. HCP-0040 entitled “Pan-CSIR Cancer Research Program - Making Cancer Care Affordable Empowering Women’s Health: Focusing on Breast and Gynaecological Cancers of Indian Relevance,” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. / M.Pharm. in Pharmacology/ M.V.Sc. or any other branch of Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Candidates with at least one year of experience in handling small animals (mice and rats), and working knowledge of techniques like mammalian cell culture, ELISA, and Western blotting will be preferred
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) :
i. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through:
a. National Eligibility Tests: CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)/GATE (or)
b. A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
ii. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above
Note : The position is co-terminus with the Project HCP-040. The duration of the project is up to 31.03.2026.

Important Instructions
1. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview.
2. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
3. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.

Online Selection Procedure
1. Application for this position can be filled out online at Google Forms link.
2. The filled-up Google Form should be submitted by or before 19th April 2024 (Friday) up to 5:00 PM. Application Forms after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview.
3. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the viva voce on the date of the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 22nd April 2024 (Monday).
4. All short-listed candidates will be required to send scanned documents in a single PDF file by 5:00 PM on 23nd April 2024 (Tuesday) through email to p.ramajayan@iiim.res.in.
5. Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview online through video conference on MS Teams. The shortlisted candidates have to be available on the date of Online Interview from 10.00 A.M. onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time period (if any change is there, they will be accordingly intimated).
6. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
7. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
8. The positions are purely temporary on a contract basis and co-terminus with the respective Project.
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand canceled.

It is clarified that the engagement of all project staff in different projects either in the same Lab./Instt. or different Labs./Instts. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. If at later stage any fudging/fraud in this regard is found, legal action as warranted under rules shall be taken against the wrongdoer. Candidates are required to submit undertaking (attached with the Google Form) in this regard.
