The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Post : Student Internship Fellow [01 Position]
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Student Internship Fellow under Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) Policy of DST-SERB, on a purely temporary basis under project No. GAP-3135 entitled “Chemical modulation of bacterial ATP synthase to identify novel chemical scaffolds targeting active and latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb),” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Essential Qualification : Candidates in the 1st or 2nd year of their Post Graduation (M.Sc./ M. Tech) in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Microbiology/Zoology from a recognized University or equivalent or 4th year of Graduation (B. Tech.) from a recognized University are encouraged to apply
Desirable : Knowledge of basic molecular and microbiology techniques.
Duration of Internship : Two Months (Eight Weeks)
Monthly Emoluments : Rs.5,000/- only
Online Selection Procedure
1. Application for the position can be filled out online at Google Forms link
2. The filled-up Google Form should be submitted by or before 10th April 2024 (Wednesday) up to 5:00 PM. Application Forms after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview.
3. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the viva voce on the date of the interview.
4. All applicants/candidates will be required to send a recommendation letter forwarded/endorsed by the head of the institute/department where they are currently studying through email to rashmi.sharma.09@iiim.res.in, by or before 12th April 2024 (Friday). After verification of the documents, final list of eligible candidates will be displayed on CSIR-IIIM website iiim.res.in on 15th April 2024 (Monday).
5. Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview online through video conference on MS Teams. The shortlisted candidates shall have to be available on the date of the Online Interview, i.e. 22nd April 2024 (Monday), from 9:30 AM onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time (if any change is there, they will be intimated accordingly).
6. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
7. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
8. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
9. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall be cancelled.
10. Institute is not liable to provide accommodation to the selected candidate. However, upon the approval of the Competent Authority, accommodation on paid basis may be provided subject to availability.
