CSMCRI with much scientific excitement has now achieved technological excellence with several granted patents in the core mandate of the institute and is one among the top performing national R&D laboratories in the country. At the beginning of 2011, the Institute has around 360 staff with 150 S&T staff on its roll and around 250 research fellows and project assistants pursing their doctoral programme.
Applications are invited from talented and motivated candidates to work in a CSIR-funded project entitled "Specialty Chemicals for Industrial Applications” at CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
Project Associate 1 : (2 Post)
Qualification* : M.Sc. in Chemistry
Job requirement : The selected candidates will work on related project activities.
Emoluments : 31,000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Test – CSIR UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professor) or GATE. OR (b) A selection process through a National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions.
25,000 /- + HRA for others who don’t fall under (i) above.
Age limit* : 35 years
Project Associate II : (2 Post)
Qualification* : M.Sc. in Chemistry and 2 Years Experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services.
Job requirement : The selected candidates will work on related project activities.
Emoluments : 35,000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Test – CSIR UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professor) or GATE. OR (b) A selection process through a National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions.
28,000 /- + HRA for others who don’t fall under (i) above.
Age limit* : 35 years
*Relaxation in age/qualification as per CSIR norms.

The selected candidates may pursue the Ph.D. program in AcSIR as per the guidelines.
Duration : These posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
Ineligible candidates and students appearing in the final year of essential qualifying degrees don’t apply.
