The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Junior Research Fellow on a purely temporary basis under the SERB Project No. GAP-3139 entitled “A multi-OMICS Approach to Decipher the Stress Signaling Network in Rhodiola imbricate Edgew,” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences or Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Courses selected through any one of the following : a) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE; b) National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Desirable : Preference will be given to candidates having CSIR/UGC NET/GATE and working experience relevant to the project topic.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : i. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through : a. National Eligibility Tests : CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)/GATE (or) b. A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above
Note : The duration of SERB Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is for 2 years or till the tenure of the project, whichever is earlier.
Important Instructions
1. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR, extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. Duration of the project is up to 21.11.2025.
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview.
4. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
5. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
6. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 02nd May 2024 (Thursday) up to 5:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submittd after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
7. Only eligible candidates shall be invited for the viva voce/in-person discussion on the date of the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 06th May 2024 (Monday).
8. Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the in-person interview at Board Room, CSIR-IIIM, Canal Road, Jammu (UT of J&K).
9. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies. 10. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
11. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
12. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
13. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
