Vacancy for Senior Research Fellow at JIPMER

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) can trace its origins to the ‘Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry’ established by the French Government in 1823. In 1956 foundation for new medical college was laid and in 1964, hospital was inaugurated. JIPMER became an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. It is an institution established for teaching, research and patient care in the area of health. JIPMER spreads over 192 acres.

Senior Research Fellow - 01 post
Essential Qualification : PhD in Life Sciences preferably in Biochemistry / Biotechnology. The candidate should have demonstrated aptitude in terms of publications in peer-reviewed journals. You should have the upper age limit of 32 years as on the last date of application.
Salary : INR 40,600 including HRA (as per ICMR norms)
Location : Department of Biochemistry
Contract Type : Contract/Temporary (One year - likely to be extended beyond two more years based on the fellow performance or availability of funds)

Highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join the ICMR funded project entitled “Role of micro RNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma”. A keen interest in gene regulation, standard biochemical and molecular biology and cell culture techniques, and animal model research are essential. S/he will have an excellent scientific track record, committed to a scientific career and will be keen to work in an interdisciplinary team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and scientific creativity are essential.
