The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Project Title: Neuroprotective and neuritogenic effects of a cell-permeable bacterial histone-mimic protein: Therapeutic implications for neurodegenerative pathologies.

Essential Qualifications:
(1) Ph.D in Life Sciences (preferably in neuroscience discipline) or 3 years of research experience after MSc/MTech.
(2) At least 2 or more first author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Desired Experience:
(1) Must have proven expertise in peripheral and surgical delivery of substances to the central nervous system and other in vivo techniques in rodent models including dissection, perfusion etc
(2). General expertise in cell culture, imaging and molecular biology techniques.

Salary: Rs 36,000 + 30% HRA per month.

Age: Not more than 35 years as on closing date of advertisement

Duration of the position: Till November 15, 2021 or until the completion of the project (whichever is earlier).

Appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project. The prescribed educational qualifications are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be considered in each stage of the selection process. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidate will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.
