The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Panjab University is a premier institution of Pharmaceutical Education and Research in the country. The institute has covered a long and glorious journey of 76 years starting from Lahore in 1944 and finally settling to the present campus in Chandigarh at the foothills of Himachal. In its travelogue, the institute crossed multiple milestones and continue to head ahead towards the well-defined goals. The elevation of the status from department to the level of an institute i.e. University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1994, and hosting of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress in the same year.
Applications are invited for JRF/PROJECT FELLOW in IUAC (Autonomous Centre of UGC) funded project entitled “GEOGENIC STUDY OF URANIUM USING 10Be, 14C, 26Al and 36Cl BASED ACCELARATOR MASS SPECTROMETRY”which is to be carried out in the Chemistry Department and Geology Department of Panjab University, Chandigarh under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr. Alok Srivastava (PI) and Prof. Rajeev Patnaik (Co-PI). The appointment of JRF/Project Fellow is presently on temporary basis i.e. for a period of one year initially with the condition of being further extended depending on the progress of the project.
The person to be considered for appointment must have second class Master degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks for general category (50 percent in case of SC/ST/PH) or M.Phil in subject area of Chemistry/Physics/Geology or a related subject and should be below the age of 40 years at the time of appointment.
The Fellowship for Non-Gate/NET/GPAT candidates will be Rs 14,000/- per month and HRA as per Central Government norms for initial 2 years and Rs 16,000/- per month from third year onwards.
The Fellowship for GATE/NET/GPAT Qualified candidates with awarded Ph.D degrees will be Rs 16,000 /- per month as per Central Government norms for initial 2 years and Rs 18,000/- per month from third year onwards.
