The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare comprises the following departments, each of which is headed by a secretary to the government of India: Departments of Health & Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH, Department of Health Research. Department of AIDS Control. Directorate General of Health Services(Dte.GHS) is attached office of the Department of Health & Family Welfare and has subordinate at offices spread all over the country. The DGHS renders technical advice on all medical and public health matters and is involved in the implementation of various health services.

Govt, of India (MoHFW) invites applications from individuals for job on contract basis for six months for the post of Pharmaceutical Consultant

Post: Pharmaceutical Consultant- (1 Post)

Salary: Rs. 75,000/- (Consolidated)

Requirements:
• Candidates should possess a post graduate degree in pharmacy.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in pharmacy in the health sector, of which at least three should have been with public sector organizations. Experience of the evaluation of pharmaceutical tenders is essential.

Age: Below 65 years.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide input to the Operational Manual on the preparation of generic specifications for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
• Advice on tender and contract conditions for drug supplies.
• Provide assistance in the selection and qualification of drugs and other pharmaceutical products.
• Assist in technical evaluation of pharmaceutical tenders.
• Train EPW and state procurement staff in the evaluation of pharmaceutical tenders.
• Provide advice on the designing a pharmaceutical and prior product quality problems.
• Assist in the establishment of a data-base of accredited testing laboratories for pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies.
• Advice on setting up a QA system for drugs and pharmaceuticals covering the entire supply chain process. This function is required to be carried out in close collaboration with the quality assurance consultant and other consultants working on quality related issues.
• Assist in training needs assessment for procurement, distribution and storage of pharmaceutical items and in the preparation of training materials.
• Assist EPW in defining the technical qualification criteria for the bid documents.
• Other duties as specified by the Ministry.
