School of Pharmacy, ARKA JAIN University, India in collaboration with School of Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy department, San Pedro College, Philippines & MOU Partners; IQAC, IIIC and RDC of AJU conducted a 5 days International Conference from 2nd May 2023 to 6th May 2023.
The conference was inaugurated by the vice chancellor of ARKA JAIN University and other dignitaries from different institutions virtually with spiritual lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana. The sacred flag bearing the symbol of pharmacy was hoisted in the presence of Chief Speaker Mr Dharmendra Singh, Executive Committee Member of Pharmacy Council of India; student participants and faculty members. The welcome note read by Dr Manoj Pathak, Associate Professor from Department of English, ARKA JAIN University. Prof. Jacqueline Padilla, Dean, Pharmacy Department, San Pedro College, Philippines and Prof. Dr. Erwin M. Faller, Director, Professor, Pharmacy Department, San Pedro College, Philippines; Dr Priyambada Kshirodanandini Sarangi, Director, Holy Grace Academy of Pharmacy, Kerala and Dean of School of Pharmacy ARKA JAIN University, India addressed participants and briefed about the theme of the conference.
The Chief Speaker focused on the implementation of a modern education system to meet the Industry requirements. He gave his valuable insights about quality in higher education. Guest of Honour Dr. D.K. Tripathi emphasised on revision of syllabus, practical research, steps taken by PCI, role of health care professionals. He suggested ways in which researchers could improve themselves and give their contributions for Society benefit.
Chief Guest Dr.Montukumar M Patel, President PCI told about technology transfer, Covid-19 vaccine, Challenges of Pharmacy profession & its impact on Nation as well as global development, ADR, Pharmacovigilance practice in India. He also emphasised on Higher education institutions are increasingly viewed as economic engines by policy makers and are seen as essential for ensuring knowledge production through research and innovation. He also appreciated the effort for the betterment of the students and faculties as well as industry persons. The inaugural session of the International Conference 2023 ended with cultural performance by the students and National Anthem of Philippines and India.
The resources from industries and academia from both the countries shared their expertise on the theme Global Health Challenges & Translating Research into Practice. About 300 participants and more than 40 institutions from both the countries participated in the conference. Finally vote of thanks was given by Mr Sumanta Sen the Associate Professor of School of Pharmacy, ARKA JAIN University, India.
