Sardar Bhagwan Singh PG Institute of Bio-medical Sciences and Research came into existence in 1994 and is the flag bearer of education and research in the prime areas of biomedical sciences and technology. This Institute was the vision of late Sardar Gurcharan Singh ji, who foresaw the necessity of providing professional education in the era of late eighties- early nineties, when this was mainly confined to the southern states. He undertook the herculean task of establishing a premier Institute—SBSPGI, a sacred abode of learning in the foothills of the Shivaliks. Today, his dreams have been realized in the shape of SBSPGI, which constitutes of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Applied Chemistry, School of Life Science and School of Allied Health Sciences, imparting finest education in their respective fields. THE ORGANISER: DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES, SBSPGI
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, is the flagship department of the Institute and forerunner in Pharmacy education in Uttarakhand State. It is the centre of professional and technical education. It runs PCI & AICTE approved B.Pharm and M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology & Toxicology, and Pharmacogonosy) courses. Total 16 batches of B.Pharm have passed out and the department boasts of strong globally placed Alumni network. The department has excellent research facilities, highly qualified faculty, hi-tech instrument lab, pilot plant setup, advance Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy labs well supported by CPCSEA approved animal house and herbal garden respectively, for imparting quality education. The students are regularly exposed to the latest trends in the industry by interaction with eminent personnels from different segments of industry to improvise their skills, which helps them get placed in various industries of repute.

In the recent times the technical skill in the country, which is the foremost demand of the present and future, has taken a back seat and is not at par with the requirements of the industry. To become industry worthy in today's competitive world, students must rise above the parochial learning and outlook based on theoretical principles & be proficient about the latest techniques and trends in pharmaceutical industry. The seminar /workshop is designed for budding pharmacist to inculcate the necessary skills which will be beneficial for their future assignments and make them professionally competent.

POSTER COMPETITION
A Poster Competition on the topics "Current Trends in Drug Discovery & Development" will be organized for the students. The participants are required to send an abstract of their poster by March 20”', 2015. The size of the poster should not be more than 6 x 4 ft.

PHARMA QUIZ- BRAIN ELIXIR
A Quiz among teams of pharmacy institutions will be organized to encourage the pharmaceutical interest. It will help students to assess and expand their breath of knowledge & skill.

(A National Level Quiz Competition in Pharmazenith 2015)
Brain Elixir is a National level Quiz Competition open to teams of various pharmacy institutions. This competition will help students to assess and expand their breath of knowledge and skills vis a vis to entertain them.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT
First Step: Form a team of four B. Pharm. Students at your institute
Second Step: Get this information and Pharmazenith 2015 brochure with you and approach to Principal/Director of your Institute and request a certificate from Principal/Director for participation of your team.
Third Step: Each member of your team has to register for Pharmazenith 2015 and pay registration fee.
No separate fee for this event is required.
Fourth Step: Submit scanned Pharmazenith 2015 registration forms (for all four members in a team) and certificate from Principal/Director of your Institute at email id pharmazenith.sbs@gmail.com
Fifth Step: You will get a confirmation mail from our side for your participation.
