It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the National Conference on “New insights into Pharmacogenomics, Drug Development and Personalized Medicine” being organized by Bhagwan Mahavir Medical Research Centre from 18^th-19^th July, 2014 in Hyderabad.

Today, India is being looked upon as a favourable destination for the conduct of pharmacogenomic research. Pharmacogenomics is the study of how an individual’s genes affect the body’s response to drugs. It combines Pharmacology and genomics to develop effective and safe medications and doses that will be tailored to a person’s genetic makeup. Pharmacogenomics is a developing research field that is still in its infancy and new approaches are under way to develop more powerful and safe drugs, to develop more accurate methods to determine appropriate drug dosages based on person’s genetics rather than on weight and age basis, to develop new technologies in drug discovery, to decrease overall cost of health care, etc. In future, Pharmacogenomics will allow the development of tailored drugs to treat wide range of health problems including cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer disease, Cancer, HIV / AIDS and Asthma. The conference will be focused on Genome bas ed therapeutics in man for various disorders. The sharing of knowledge in this field will serve as a forum for experts to come together to contribute to the safe and effective treatment for various health problems.

With a view to provide a national forum for clinicians, scientists, educationists, pharmaceutical industry and policy makers to come together for exchange of views, ideas and experiences and to deliberate upon various issues related to Pharmacogenomics, Bhagwan Mahavir Medical Research Centre, Hyderabad is organizing this Conference.

Awards to the young scientists (below 35 years) will be given for the best oral/ poster presentations. Those who wish to participate should submit the Full paper through the Head of the Organization/Department with proof of age on or before 30^th May, 2014.

REGISTRATION
Any individual wishing to attend this Conference must register by submitting the form enclosed duly filled. All the students/research scholars need to furnish a letter from their Department/ University certifying that he/she is the bonafide student of their Department/University. The registration fee covers the Conference souvenir, two days lunch, tea and refreshments. Advance payments may be made by bank demand draft in favour of “Research Director, Bhagwan Mahavir Medical Research Centre (BMMRC)” payable at Hyderabad. The delegates are requested to send the drafts to the conference secretariat

LOCAL HOSPITALITY & ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be provided on payment basis. A non-refundable advance of Rs.800/- should be sent for accommodation, if required. Efforts will be made to accommodate delegates in Guest houses. Those who wish to have accommodation in Hotels have to pay necessary charges depending on the type of Hotel. The balance amount can be paid on arrival.
