Utkal University the oldest university in Odisha and the 17th-oldest university in India located in the Capital city Bhubaneswar, Odisha established in the year 1943. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating university. The present campus at Vani-Vihar located on a sprawling 399.9 acre area in the heart of Bhubaneswar. Tit ere are about 3000 students in the masters departments in the university. This is the largest affiliating university in the country with 267 affiliated general colleges. 15 law colleges. 6 medical and a Pharmacy Dept. About UDPS
UDPS in its full version, named as University Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Utkal University, Vani-Vihar, Bhubaneswar-751 004.,Tel. No. 0674-2567806. Utkal University under its patronage instituted the Pharmacy course in the year 2000 commenced with the Integrated M.Pharm and M.Pharm courses under the Chemistry Dept. Later, the Pharmacy course was offered under University Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UDPS) with the status of an Independent Department, and Integrated M.Pharm course was converted into B.Pharm and M.Pharm courses. The Pharmacy course was introduced with an aim and objective to cater the need of Health Care System and serve die community and common people by irradicating the disease and combating manifestations by rational use of medication, awaring community about various health care issues and to meet the increasing manpower requirements of the Health care and Pharmaceutical sector, with a mission of assuring and augmenting a Healthy Society. The Department got the NOC from Department of Health & Family Welfare. State Govt, of Odisha, and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). New Delhi.
About ATAL FDP
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) through its newly established AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy have started unique faculty development programs in various thrust areas of modern technology. ATAL Academy successfully conducted 5 days face to face 190 FDP (Faculty Development programs) in nine thrust areas for A/Y 2019-20 and approximate 10000 faculty members, Research scholars and PC students participated. Post Covid- 19, ATAL Academy have gone totally online from registration of faculty members till certificate disbursal mechanism through portal. In 2020-21, 1000 online FDP are being conducted and more than one lakh participants have already participated including faculty, Research Scholar, PC students, CBSE teachers and Industry persons. The online FDP of 20-21 has been recognized as a world record by World Book of Record. London.
Insights into the FDP
This Faculty Development Program is aimed at familiarizing the participants about the latest trends and techniques in usage in the cutting edge drug engineering processes to yield the best possible pharmaceuticals and aid in treatment modalities. This will encompass precision medicine, the computer aid drug design, radiopharmaceuticals formulation and quality control, vaccine development, regulatory aspects, marketing and shall also encompass major domains of the field viz. Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Pharmaceutics, Quality Assurance, Pharmacognosy. Pharmacology. Biotechnology etc. It shall also cover briefly aspects on stress management human values, ethics, health and happiness etc.
ABOUT THE THEME: GREEN NANOMEDICINE
Green nanomedicines that highlight the potential of biosynthesized nanoparlicles as nanomedicines for the treatment and diagnosis of several common diseases. The main goal of this topic is to emphasize the potential molecular mechanism of green nanomedicines in reducing the toxicity of nanoparticles and improve their theranostic potential, compared to nanomedicines synthesized via chemical and physical approaches. The significance of these green nanomedicines to provide dual functionality as both bioimaging and a therapeutic agent , the preparation of nanomedicines as an effective drug delivery' system for improving the efficacy of conventional medicines.
Outcomes of the FDP
The participants upon attending the 5 days online ATAL FDP program shall be equipped with the latest know-how in the field of nano drug engineering and shall be targeted to initiate best practices and innovations in their field of work and teaching. The program shall become a platform of exchange of scientific and academic ideas and networking. This program shall present before them new directions to plan and impart quality technical education at their working place taking use of the knowledge gained in the thrust area.
