About Columbia Institute of Pharmacy
Columbia Institute of Pharmacy conducts B. Pharm & M. Pharm & Ph.D courses. Institute is managed and run by Jan Pragati Education Society. It imparts the best education in the field of pharmacy, in central India. It has lush green campus, modern architecture constructed with ultra modern facilities. It constantly produces quality professionals in the field of Pharmacy. B. Pharm course started in 2006. Post graduation course with specialization in pharmaceutics and pharmacology commenced in the year 2010 and in 2017 – 18 post graduation in pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance was started. All the courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi, PCI, New Delhi and affiliated to CSVTU, Bhilai. Columbia Institute of Pharmacy is also an approved research centre of CSVTU, Bhilai for conducting Ph.D programme.

CIP has signed an MOU with Burapha University, Thailand for student exchange programmes. The institute has a well maintained experimental animal house. The animal house is registered with the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals “TRANSFORMING THE FACULTY” (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India. CIP had developed cell line laboratory for conducting research. Two workshops were conducted to share the techniques and skills involved in handing cell culture. Various consultancy projects are carried by the Institute. Projects with more than Rs. 35 lakh were received from various Industries for formulation development, analytical method development and various animal studies. Columbia Institute of Pharmacy has organized two International Conferences. Institute has conducted more than 20 national workshops and seminars to improve skills of the students and teachers.

About Continuing Education Programme
Pharmacy profession is progressing very rapidly with advancements in drug discovery, development, manufacture, hospital pharmacy, patient care etc. Indian pharmaceutical industry has registered a spectacular growth in the recent years. CEP provides an opportunity to faculty members to update their knowledge and skills. This will enhance the teaching & research standards and helps in dealing with the rapid changes and shifting paradigms in pharmacy education and health care systems. This will enable the graduating students to meet the challenges that the profession demands. CEP is aimed to widen the perspective and knowledge base for Pharmacy Teachers. It should also serve to enhance the skills of faculty members and enable them to improve Pharmacy profession. This programme is designed to meet the requirements of the Pharmacy teachers to enhance competency and knowledge of updates in Pharmacy profession.

About Theme
The ever expanding pharmaceutical sector experience number of advancements gradually and steadily. These updates are not included or covered in syllabi of Pharmacy courses. Moreover, the faculty members are not equipped with these updates. Every teacher has their own aptitude and attitude. When a teacher teaches, students appear for exam, however, when teacher learns, students also learn. This programme aims to bring paradigm shift in attitude of faculty members, from a teacher who teaches to a teacher who learns. This program intends to provide opportunities for the teacher to acquaint themselves with recent developments in teaching and learning methods, enhance their knowledge and skills. The objective of this programme is to make teachers
• Improve the productivity of teaching
• Learners
• Describe and choose from the signature pedagogies used in the pharmacy education
• Motivate to use case method of teaching in appropriate learning contexts
• Aware of preparations required for the successful use of case based approach, elements of
a good research proposal
• Improve understanding of qualitative & quantitative data analysis tools & techniques
• Acquaint with the use of selected qualitative and quantitative software
• Publish in top-notch journals by understanding the expectations of editor of such journals

Who can participate
Teachers from PCI approved pharmacy institutions and university departments can participate in this CEP. Registration for CEP will be on first come first serve basis. Total number of delegates is limited to 30 only.

Participation Fees
Registration in CEP is absolutely free. All the expenses are borne by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi

Resource Person
Eminent persons from academics and industry with wide spectrum of expertise in education, research and professions are scheduled to present their deliberation.

Travel & Accommodation
To and fro 3rd AC train fare will be reimbursed for outstation participants on production of the original tickets. Accommodation will be provided on request on first cum first serve policy
