THE INSTITUTE SBSPGI came into existence in 1994 and is the flag bearer of education and research in the prime areas of biomedical sciences and technology. This institute was the vision of late Sardar Gurcharan Singh Ji, who foresaw the necessity of providing professional education in the era of late eighties-early nineties, when this was mainly confined to the southern state. He undertook the herculean task of establishing a premier Institute SBSPGI, a sacred abode of learning in the foothills of the Shivaliks. Today, his dreams have been realized in the shape of SBSPGI, which constitutes of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Applied Chemistry, School of Life sciences and School of Allied Health Sciences, imparting finest education in their respective fields.

The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) at School of Pharmaceuticals Sciences SBSPGI has been set up to meet the recent advancements training and knowledge up-gradation needs of the industry and academics professionals.

While these programmes continue to promote the objectives of training and dissemination of knowledge related to the frontiers in Technology & Research, we also view these programmes as forums to understand challenges and needs in technology, research & other advancements more clearly and nucleate mutually enriching interactions with the industry and academics fraternity.
Furthermore, the Pharmaceutical education and knowledge continuously demands active research. However, there is a fine balance to be achieved by pharmacy professionals in their teaching and research activities to impart active learning and effectiveness of teaching methodology & understand learning disabilities of students, classroom management, active learning and communication skills by application of various new instruments and technology in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
ABOUT CEP & OBJECTIVES
Rapid changes in health care and the evolving role of the pharmacist and pharmacy professionals, as shown by the recent expanding scope of practice changes in several Indian jurisdictions, have created a need for additional pharmacy continuing education Programs (CEP).
In support of life-long learning, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SBSPGI Dehradun, offers continuing education program, which is sponsored by PCI for pharmacy teachers is designed to provide reviews and updates of drug research and development, pharmacy law & Jurisprudence, and emerging technologies etc used in pharmacy.
Attendees of these programs will also gain valuable new information and knowledge in various prospects of latest advancement in pharmaceutical sciences including, formulation and development, hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, pharmacovigilance, adverse drug reaction, manufacturing and quality control. It will update the pharmacy teachers on the latest developments in the field.
This CEP aims to provide continuing pharmacy education activities designed to meet the requirements of the pharmacy teachers to enhance competency and knowledge in pharmaceutical advancement.
Who can attend?
30 pharmacy teachers from different PCI approved pharmacy institutions and university departments can participate in this CEP Registration for CEP will be on first come first serve basis.

HANDS ON TRAINING
The participants will be given orientation on analytical techniques like HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, Franz diffusion cell, Biochemical auto analyzer etc ; Important pharmaceutical equipments & Quality control tools ; evaluation of various pharmacological activities and extraction & isolation of phytoconstituents.
