Bayer begins phase-I study with Idiotype vaccination, a personalized vaccine from tobacco plants to treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma

The transfer into clinical development of a patient-specific vaccine represents a milestone for Bayer Innovation GmbH. Following approval of the phase-I study by the US FDA (Food & Drug Administration) in the United States, the vaccine is now being tested in human subjects. This is the first time that proteins obtained from tobacco plants using magnICON technology undergo clinical testing.

Bombay HC restrains Cipla from using Valcept trade mark for its anti viral drug valganciclovir

The Bombay High Court has restrained Cipla from using the trade mark of 'Valcept' for its anti viral drug – valganciclovir HCl, following a trade mark infringement suit filed by Syntex Pharm AG, for its major immunosuppressant drug, Cellcept. Cellcept is marketed in India by Hoffman-La Roche.
