As per the notification of CCRAS dated 15th December 2009, the Institute has been re-upgraded in category A and named as National Research Institute for Ayurveda –Siddha Human Resource Development, Gwalior.

    Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Gwalior established in the year 1970, is engaged in research with the focused mandate 1. Human Resource Development Activities and 2. Ayurveda Drug Development. The out-patient department of the Institute caters the primary health needs of the patients reporting for different illnesses, out of which the patients are registered for research programs allocated from time to time. The Institute is equipped with 25 bedded In-patient Department, a well equipped laboratory for biochemical and pathological investigations.

    Jiwaji University Gwalior came into existence on May 23, 1964, through M.P. Govt. Ordinance no. 15 of 1963. Late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone on 11th December 1964 at a sprawling campus of over 225 acres of land at Naulakha Parade ground. This was a generous contribution of Scindia family, in particular Kailashwasi Maharaja Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia and late Rajmata Shrimati Vijayaraje Scindia.
