Established in 1997, it brings together all the major West London medical schools into one world-class institution. It maintains close links with a number of NHS Trusts with whom it collaborates in teaching and research activities. Although on several sites, its academic divisions function as one Faculty, fully integrated within the College.
The Dean's PhD Scholarships in the Faculty of Medicine are awarded to high calibre researchers who go on to conduct important research and gain recognition worldwide. Research at Imperial is enabled by our world-class expertise and takes place in departments rated 5 and 5* in the last RAE.
Stipend: The programme provides an enhanced stipend of £17,500 p/a and additional funding at the end of three years for a six month writing-up period. Funding is also included for tuition fees, consumables and conference attendance.
Eligibility:
The Dean's PhD Scholarships are currently only available for studies which have not yet commenced. Applicants must not have already started their PhD.

Applicants should hold or expect to receive, a merit or above in their Master's Degree (or equivalent) in an area relevant to their proposed field of research, before starting the PhD. They should also hold an Undergraduate Degree at 2.2 or above.
Studentships awarded based on predicted grades will be conditional upon final results.
Applications are not restricted by residency or nationality. However, international students will only be eligible for Home/EU tuition fees and must be able to self fund the difference between Home/EU and Overseas fees. We are unable to offer advice on finances.
