The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a not-for-profit public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.
The PHFI focuses on broad dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost sight of in policy planning as well as in popular understanding.

Project Brief:
PHFI has set up an Immunization Technical Support Unit (ITSU) within Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to provide technical support to the Ministry to revitalize and successfully implement the Universal Immunization Program (UIP). ITSU will provide technical and management expertise and build capacity to design, create, implement, and institutionalize a stronger immunization program fully lead by GOI.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
The major responsibilitieswill be as follows:
Support the Vaccine Logistics unit of ITSU in implementation of pilot projects on logistics management and cold chain system.
Liaison with state officials for day to day implementation of projects
Assist the ITSU core group at PHFI with the development of new data tools, questionnaires and analysis methods as and when required.
Collect and review literature on various aspects of routine immunization and new ideas and interventions to improve coverage.
Help in maintaining and updating data related to various aspects of vaccines and cold chain activities.
Assist in any other research and work needed with day to day functioning of the unit.
Assist in collating and analysis of data collected and prepare timely reports and submit to the supervisor.
Assist in day to day operations, coordination of project activities and document project activities.
Candidate should be prepared to spend good amount of days in districts, as per the program needs.
Provide regular feedback of activities and a monthly report to PHFI supervisor
Qualifications / Skills required
Master in Public Health/social work/social science/economics/science, with 2-3 years of experience.
Candidate should possess good writing and presentation skills and be proficient in using MS Office applications.
Experience of working in the field of Public Health and knowledge in using and analyzing results of Statistical Package (SPSS, SAS, STATA) is desirable.
