CSIR Ayurgenomics Unit – TRISUTRA has been operational at CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology with a mission to develop affordable health care solutions based on traditional knowledge of Ayurveda, Genomic knowledge and Modern Medicine. For this, an inter-disciplinary networked centre is being created that would enable cross talk between Ayurveda, modern medicine and genomic science. The Unit is striving towards providing scientific credence and global acceptability to Ayurveda, new leads to genomics, create interdisciplinary expertise and would also provide marketable leads that would be attractive to health, nutrition and Ayurveda industry.
CSIR Ayurgenomics Unit – TRISUTRA invites applications for following posts:
Post: Senior Scientist - Group IV (3) Sr. Scientist – 02 (Two)
Educational Qualifications: Ph.D in Life Sciences. Essential qualification at least 02 years experience in Human Genetics and Genomics.
Basic Requirement: Good understanding of NGS platforms and demonstrable experience of working in high throughput genomics environment for last three years.
Desirable:
Outstanding academic and research record with a commitment to achieve excellence. Research experience in business driven R&D in the area of genomics would be highly appreciated. The applicant should be well versed with analytical aspects of genomics including data-mining computer applications, R&D project planning implementation and reporting skills. Candidate should have demonstrable aptitude for manpower training, bio-repository management, genotyping and sequencing including NGS platforms. Candidates should have excellent presentation/ inter-personal communication skills as well as multitasking abilities for effective co-ordination and networking. Research experience in the field of herbal/Ayurveda based approaches with experience in translational aspects would be an added advantage.
Job Profile: Candidates are expected to run High throughput Genotyping, Genomics activity and Facility; Establishment of field stations of Ayurgenomics Unit in collaborating organisation, creation and management of bio-repository, training inter-disciplinary manpower from diverse fields such as Ayurveda, medicine and public health in the area of genomics through workshops and training programmes.
Pay Band: Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.7600
Total monthly emoluments at the Minimum of the scale is: Rs. 55,000 approx.
Maximum age limit: 37 yrs (Relax able in case of deserving and meritorious candidates)

- Applicants appearing for interview will be paid to and fro single second class rail/bus are including reservation by the shortest route from the place of residence/actual departing station whichever is nearer to Delhi.
- Applicants from abroad, appearing for interview, will be paid single second class rail fare including reservation charges by the shortest route from the place of landing/disembarkment in India to Delhi and back.
- Applicants of Indian origin settled abroad, who are of proven merit as evidenced by their research work, may be considered in absentia by the selection committee.
- Relaxation in upper age limit, qualifications and/or experience, in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates, (both departmental and outsiders) may be considered with the prior approval of competent authority.
- Applications from employees of Government/Semi-Govt Departments, Public Sector Undertakings and Autonomous Bodies will be considered only if routed through proper channel.
- Applicants should specifically note that the applications received after the closing date will not be entertained.

- Canvassing in any form or bringing any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification.
- The prescribed age limit will be reckoned as one on the last date for receipt of applications i.e. 18-9-2013. Upper age-limit is relax able in respect of SC/ST/OBC &PH candidates as per GOI orders. The upper age-limit is also relax able by 5 years in case ofCouncil/Government/Autonomous Bodies/Public Sectors employees as per instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time.
- Period of experience in a discipline/area of work shall be counted from the date of acquiring of minimum prescribed educational qualification.
- The positions carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees in the same pay scale and posted at Delhi.
