The Gujarat Agricultural University was established in February 1972 with the Statewide mandate for the triple function of Agricultural Education, Research and Extension Education. For strengthening of these activities at regional level, the Gujarat Agricultural University is separated in to four different Agricultural Universities in the State by Gujarat Agricultural University Act-2004. Junagadh Agricultural University is one of them, which came in to existence from 1st May, 2004.

Prescribed Qualifications:
A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/ college, and/or experience in research at the University/ National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on ICAR Regulations / UGC Regulations.
(v) The candidate should be the member of State Veterinary Council and Veterinary Council of India.

B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

AGE: Below 55 years
Age relaxable in suitable cases of the employees of the Gujarat Agricultural Universities.

Relaxation in qualifications:
1. For the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment, a relaxation of 5% at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories of the candidates. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks excluding grace marks if any.
2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on ICAR Regulations / UGC Regulations.
vi. The candidate should be the member of State Veterinary Council and Veterinary Council of India.

Important:
1. New defined contributory pension scheme as introduced vide Government vernacular Resolution Dated: 18/3/2005 and 6/6/2005 No. NPN-2003-GOI-10-P will be applicable in case of candidates other than the employees of Agricultural Universities of Gujarat who have been appointed prior to the introduction of this scheme.
2. The post of SC, ST and SEBC will be filled up as per the State Government rules in all the posts.
3. Age relaxable in case of SC, ST and SEBC as per the State Government Rules.
4. Possess the basic knowledge of computer application as per Government of Gujarat rules. If the candidate without having passed CCC+ examination is selected, he / she will have to pass the said examination during the probation period, failing which, his / her services will be terminated.
5. The Candidates fulfilling the educational qualifications, minimum experience, age etc. will be considered as provisionally eligible candidates who will be subsequently asked to submit the details for API score. The proforma prepared as per the guidelines of ICAR / UGC Regulations will be sent to the provisionally eligible candidates through e-mail afterwards. The candidates are advised to keep the details for API score ready with them for this purpose.

Processing fee for general candidate is Rs.1000/- and Rs. 250/- for S.C. / S.T. / S.E.B.C. / P.H. candidate of Gujarat State. The details of educational qualifications, experience, age etc. should be obtained from website jau.in. The application should be submitted online from website sauguj.in after paying the processing fee through internet banking through the website onlinesbi.com. The candidate can also pay the processing fee in cash by downloading the State Bank Collect challan from onlinesbi.com.

After Paying the processing fee the form can be filled up online next working day after 14:00 Hrs.

The hard copy of the application supported with attested copies of certificates, pertaining to the qualifications and experience should reach to the Registrar, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh before Dt.30/09/2013. The University reserves its right not to fill-in all or any post if deems necessary.

The reservation of posts is for the candidates of Gujarat State origin only, therefore the candidates of other states need not apply for the reserved posts. In case of non-availability of women candidates, the post so reserved will be allotted to the male candidate of the same category. Relaxation up to five years in upper age limit shall be admissible for man candidates of the reserved categories and for women and physically handicapped it will be ten years as per the criteria prescribed by Government of Gujarat State.

The SEBC candidate should furnish the current financial year's "Non Creamylayer Certificate" in the prescribed proforma along with the application form, failing which, the candidate will not be entitled to get the benefit of reserved category.
