National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. Essential Qualification:
1) Masters Degree in Life Science/Biotechnology
OR
2) Graduate degree in professional course, GATE qualified with minimum 55 % marks
Desirable: 1-2 years experience/ publication in peer reviewed journal Experience in microbiology, tissue culture, rDNA and protein chemistry.
Junior Research Fellow

Essential Qualification:
1. & 2. Rs. 16000/ p.m. for JRF 3. Rs. 18000/ p.m. for JRF
Desirable: 1) Masters Degree in Life Science/Biotechnology Candidate must have NET /GATE or equivalent qualification
or
2) Graduate degree in professional course, Candidate must have NET /GATE or equivalent qualification
or
3) Postgraduate degree in professional course with minimum 55%
Desirable: Experience in handling Mycobacterial strains, microscopy, microbiology and protein chemistry techniques
Age Limit: 28 years (may be relaxed depending upon the suitability of qualification & experience & Relaxation for SC/ST/PH/OBC as per GOI rules).
All the posts are contractual in nature & none of the post holds right to permanency. The above positions are purely temporary initially for one year. JRF position is extendable for a further 2 years, based on the satisfaction of the PI (GP-394). For JRF position, if institute is unable to provide accommodation, HRA will be provided as per DST rules. Walk in Interview will be held on 12th September, 2013 at 11 am till 12:30 noon in the Research Block, Department of Biotechnology. Candidates should bring three copies of the application giving details of educational qualification, experience with name of the Institute, post held, scale of pay and past salary alongwith original certificates. Application should be accompanied by demand draft for Rs. 50/- (Rs. 25/- for SC/ST/PH) in favour of "Director NIPER", drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Mohali/ Chandigarh. Reservation of SC/ST and PH is as per GOI rules. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
