Mizoram University was established on 2nd July 2001 by the Mizoram University Act, 2000 which appeared in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) on 25th April, 2000 as a Central University having His Excellency, the President of India as its Visitor. The objectives of the University, as laid down in the Act are "to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit, to make provisions for integrated courses in humanities, natural and physical sciences, social sciences, forestry and other allied disciplines in the educational programmes of the University; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train man-power in the development of the state of Mizoram.
Post: SRF, JRF, Project Assistant
Applications are invited for the posts of two SRFs @ Rs 14,000, to work in the project entitled “Evaluation of the radioprotective activity of Zingiber officinale rhizome in mice exposed to different doses of gamma radiation” Duration Two years.
Qualifications and experience: First Class Postgraduate degree in Zoology/Biochemistry/Physiology/ Pharmaceutical Sciences with two years research experience after post-graduation.
One JRF @ Rs 16000 (net qualification desirable ) and one project assistant @ Rs 8000/- per month to work in the project entitled Anticancerous drug development from important ethnomedicinal plants of Mizoram” Duration Three years
Qualifications: First Class Post graduate degree in Zoology/Biochemistry/Physiology/Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The appointments are purely temporary and coterminous with the projects.
