King's College London was founded in 1828-9 by a group of eminent politicians, churchmen and others. They wanted to see a Church of England alternative to what later became University College London (UCL, founded in 1826), known as 'the godless college in Gower Street'. King's was granted a royal charter by King George IV on 14 August 1829.

Post: Research Fellow

Job Description: Applications are invited for a fixed term (4 months) Research Fellow position to work on a project involving the behavioural assessment of novel treatments for Parkinson’s disease. You will have experience in several models of Parkinson’s disease, behavioural assessment of motor disability and dyskinesia and related data analysis.

Details: You must have a Ph.D in pharmacology or related subject, have good organisational skills and some theoretical knowledge of the pharmacology of Parkinson’s disease. You must hold a Home Office Personal Personal Licence. You will be expected to work some weekends.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 02 November 2012.

Salary: The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications, within the Grade 7 scale, currently £38,140 to £42,883, per annum plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance.

Post duration: Fixed term contract for 4 months
