The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.
As early as in 1911, the Government of India set up the Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) with the specific objective of sponsoring and coordinating medical research in the country. After independence, several important changes were made in the organisation and the activities of the IRFA. It was redesignated in 1949 as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) with considerably expanded scope of functions.

Post: Research Associate

Applications are invited on plain paper for the purely temporary post of Research Associate (RA) under ICMR Project in the Indian Journal of Medical Research.

Qualifications- Essential :
Ph.D with three years post doctoral research experience in any field of Life Sciences/ Biological Sciences.

Desirable : Knowledge of IT/computers.

Age : Up to 40 years (as on 31-11-2012) for RA

Salary : For RA : Rs. 23,000 per month (consolidated) plus HRA as per rules

The candidates fulfilling essential and desirable qualifications and experience will be invited to attend the Interview at the ICMR Headquarters, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi, on November 20, 2012 at 10:30 am. The candidates are requested to submit their application on plain paper with complete details with a recent passport size photograph duly affixed on it, and attested photocopies of relevant certificates by November 5, 2012, till 4:00 pm to the office of Senior AO, P & I, in room number 203/206. Phone/mobile number and e mail address need to be provided in the application. Eligible candidates who will be called for interview are required to bring five sets of photocopies of their Curriculum Vitae and all other certificates/ testimonials as also the original certificates for verification.

The selected candidate will work in the editorial section of the Indian Journal of Medical Research. He/she will be associated with the Journal and among other assignments, will help in the web-based editorial management of the journal.

The posts are purely temporary till the duration of the project and co-terminus with the project. The selected candidates will be governed by the ICMR rules applicable to temporary project staff. They will have no claim for regular appointment under ICMR. Benefits of Provident Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim etc. are not admissible.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview.
