Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology
Post: Senior Research Fellow, Junior Research Fellow, Technical Assistant
Senior Research Fellow (SRF) : 01 (one)
Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences /Microbiology /Molecular Biology /Biochemistry /Biophysics /Biotechnology /Zoology /Botany from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. NET/GATE qualified or candidates having some research experience (supported by publication) will be preferred. Age: The upper age limit is 32 years.
Age: relaxation upto 5 years will be given to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category.
Remuneration: Rs. 14,000/- + 10% HRA per month and Rs. 18,000/- + 10% HRA per month for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) : 02 (two)
Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences /Microbiology /Molecular Biology /Biochemistry /Biophysics /Biotechnology /Zoology /Botany from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. NET/GATE qualified or candidates having some research experience will be preferred. Age: The upper age limit is 28 years.
Age: relaxation upto 5 years will be given to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category.
Remuneration: Rs. 12,000/- + 10% HRA per month and Rs. 16,000/- + 10% HRA per month for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Technical Assistant (TA) : 02 (two)
Qualification: Graduate in Life Sciences/Biosciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Chemistry. One year experience in any government R&D laboratory, University, Institute is preferable.
Age: The upper age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation upto 5 years will be given to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category.
Remuneration: Rs. 8,000/- + 10% HRA per month.

A walk-in-interview will be held on 30 May, 2013 from 10.00 a.m. onwards in the office of the Head, Department of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Tezpur University, for the following temporary positions in the DBT Project entitled “Strengthening of Biotechnology teaching, training and research in Universities and Colleges in the Northeast” sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
Interested candidates may appear before the interview board with original documents and photocopies of mark sheets, certificates, testimonials, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate and a copy of curriculum vitae (CV).
All appointments will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended further depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus with the project.
N.B. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
