In the year 1963, after liberation of Goa in 1961, the institute was renamed as " GOA COLLEGE OF PHARMACY" and shifted to the present premises which was formerly a Portuguese school. This pharmacy course was upgraded to a full fledged degree course of Bachelor of Pharmacy under University of Bombay. Diploma in Pharmacy course was started in 1966. Later in 1970, the college was recognized for Master's degree in Pharmacy entirely by Research, under University of Bombay.
The college is now affiliated to Goa University , is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) , All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is run by Government of Goa.

Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential:
(i) Bachelors and Masters Degree in Pharmacy with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Masters Degree and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
(ii) Minimum of 10 years Teaching / Research / Industrial experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor OR Minimum of 13 years experience in Teaching and / or Research and / or Industry.
(iii) Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable:
(i) Post Ph.D. publications and guiding Ph.D. students.
(ii) Knowledge of Marathi.
Note: In case of research experience, good academic record and books/research paper publications/Intellectual Property Rights/Patents Record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection C ommittee. If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Associate Professor with active participation record in devising/designing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books/research paper publications/Intellectual Property Rights/Patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee.

(ii) Minimum of 5 years experience in Teaching / Research / Industry of which 2 years post Ph.D. experience is desirable.
(iii) Knowledge of Konkani.

(ii) Knowledge of Marathi.
Assistant Professors:

3. “The upper age limit shown against each post is relaxable upto 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST, upto 3 years for can didates belonging to OBC, upto 5 years (total 10 years for SC/ST & 8 years for OBC i n respect of posts reserved for them) to blind, deaf-mute and orthopedically handicapped person and upto 5 years for CFF. Age is also relaxable for Government Servants upto 5 years as per the instructions issued by the Government from time to time”.
4. In case of non-availability of suitable candidat es with the knowledge of Konkani, for the posts in professional colleges, Consultants in Directorate of Health Services and highly technical/scientific posts, this requirement can be relaxed.
5. The Commission will draw a panel of candidates, which will remain valid for a period of one year.
6. Prescribed EQs are minimum & mere possession of same does not entitle the candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received is large, the Commission will short list the candidates to be called for interview.
