NCCS invites Multiple Vacancies | Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, Research Associate

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc.  The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.
During its transformation, the centre has undergone several changes to facilitate achievement of its goals.  The centre has expanded its scientific charter to strengthen basic research in the areas of cancer biology, cell biology, immunology, genomics and proteomics.

Walk in interview program for the following temporary project posts tenable at NCCS, Pune.

Post : Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, Research Associate

Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the Project: "CCR6 as a therapeutic target to control inflammation and autoimmunity" under the supervision of Dr. Girdhari Lai, Scientist 'D'
Upper age limit: 28 Years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential: M.Sc. or Equivalent Degree in any Branch of Life Sciences with minimum of 55% marks.
Desirable: Minimum one year experience in Immunology, Cell Biology and molecular Biology will be preferred.
Month emoluments: Rs. 12,000/- + 20% HRA for 1st & 2nd Year, Rs. 14,000/- + 20% HRA for 3rd Year.
Tenure: One Years.

Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the Project: "Regulation of T cell Development and Differentiation by Nuclear Matrix Protein SMAR1: Its Implications in Responses" under supervision of Dr. Samit Chattopadhyay, Scientist 'G'
Upper age limit: 28 Years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential: M.Sc. or equivalent degree in any branch of Life Sciences with minimum of 55% marks.
Month emoluments: Rs. 12,000/- + 20% HRA for 1st & 2nd Year, Rs. 14,000/- + 20% HRA for 3rd Year.
Tenure: One Years. & Seven months

Senior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the Project: "An attractive and promising strategy for early cancer diagnosis through the assembly of the human cancer volatome" under supervision of Dr. Srikanth Rapole, Scientist X'
Upper age limit: 32 Years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential: M. Sc. or Equivalent Degree in Chemistry with minimum of 55% marks /M.Sc. or Equivalent Degree with minimum of 55% marks in any Branch of Life Science and at least two years of post-M.Sc. research experience.
Desirable: Experience in clinical research work in the field of metabolomics & proteomics. Handling experience of LC-MS, GC-MS.
Month emoluments: *Rs. 18000/-+ 20% HRA
Tenure: Two Years and Ten Months

Research Associate (One Post)
Name of the Project: "Molecular Pathways regulating Ovarian Cancer Cell Plasticity and Stem Cell Properties" under supervision of Dr. Sharmila Bapat, Scientist 'E*
Upper age limit: 35 Years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
Ph. D in any Branch of Life Science or Equivalent Degree or having 3 years of research, design and development experience after MVSc/ M Pharm/ME/MTech with at least one research paper as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications.
Desirable: Experience in Mammalian cell culture. Sound knowledge of molecular tools and recent advances in cell biology. Good verbal & written communication skills essential.
Month emoluments: *Rs. 22000/-+ 15% HRA
Tenure: Two Years

Candidates reporting after 9.30 am will not be permitted to attend the interview, which may be noted.

For JRF Position, Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified CSIR-NET/ GATE / UGC-LS examination. Selected candidates who have qualified NET/GATE will be paid stipend of Rs. 16,000/- p.m. + HRA depending on the project sanction order. Candidates, who have LS qualifications or not qualified in any of the above mentioned examinations, if selected, will be paid stipend of Rs.12,000/- p.m. + HRA depending on the project sanction order.

• Upper age limit will be considered as on the date of interview. Age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules.
• Reservation as per Govt, of India norms will be followed.
• Marks relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates i.e. minimum 50% marks.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.
• SC/ST candidates should produce proof of their caste certificate from appropriate authority and OBC candidates should produce latest non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed form for claiming the reservation benefits.
• Please bring *Bio-data Form.doc & "Preference Form.Doc duly filled in and all original certificates showing date of birth, qualification, statement of marks of the exam passed, certificate of past experience, certificate in support of present employment, salary certificate & other relevant documents along with a set of attested copies.
• Candidates are required to mention the post preference for Junior Research Fellow positions as per their interest and research area.
