3 PhD studentships are available at the German Cancer Research Centre, Heidelberg, Germany in the laboratory of Prof. HJ Delecluse. Our laboratory is dedicated to the study and prevention of tumors induced by the Epstein-Barr virus. The successful applicants will join a research group working on different aspects of the genetics and biochemistry of the Epstein-Barr virus, a herpesvirus that is widespread in all human populations and is linked to certain forms of cancer.
We are seeking highly motivated and hard working scientists with a strong interest in Virology and a desire to pursue a career in research. Only applicants with a Masters degree in molecular Biology, molecular Virology, Biochemistry or Bioinformatics equivalent to a first class honours including a substantial (1 semester fulltime or more) experimental research experience are invited to apply. Prior expertise in Bioinformatics is an asset. Further requirements include a recent successful TOEFL test (>91 total) or equivalents. The positions are immediately available. Candidates should send CV and three letters of reference, some of which were written by their MSc thesis supervisors.
