National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Post: Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER) is an Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute has opening for the posts of (i) Professor [PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) + Academic Grade Pay Rs.10500/-] (ii) Associate Professor [PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) + Academic Grade Pay Rs.9500/-] & (iii) Assistant Professor [PB-3 (Rs.15600-39100) + Academic Grade Pay Rs.8000/-]. The openings are in the specialization of following disciplines:

A. Discipline of Pharmaceutical Sciences: Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology (Technology Development of APIs & Dosage Formulations).

B. Discipline of Biological Sciences: Pharmacology & Toxicology, Regulatory Toxicology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy Practices, Pharmaceutical Technology (Biotechnology).

C. Discipline of Chemical Sciences: Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products, Traditional Medicines, Pharmacoinformatics, Pharmaceutical Technology (Bulk Drugs).

D. Discipline of Management: Marketing, Finance, Human Resource (HR), Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), Research Management and Business Development.

Professor
No. of Posts: 11 (UR:7, SC:1, ST:1, OBC:2)
Remunerations and Benefits: PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) + AGP Rs.10500/-
Max. Age Limit: 50 years (Relaxable for specially qualified candidates)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Ph.D with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience with published work of high quality well recognized and established reputation of having made conspicuous seminal contribution to knowledge in pharmaceutical and allied areas.

Associate Professor
No. of Posts: 11 (UR:6, SC:1, ST:1, OBC:3)
Remunerations and Benefits: PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) + AGP Rs.9500/-
Max. Age Limit: 50 years (Relaxable for specially qualified candidates)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 8 years of teaching/research/industrial experience with published work of high quality and an established reputation of having made seminal contribution to knowledge in pharmaceutical and allied areas.

Assistant Professor
No. of Posts: 07* (SC:2, OBC:5)
Remunerations and Benefits: PB-3 (Rs.15600-39100) + AGP Rs.8000/-
Max. Age Limit: 45 years (Relaxable for specially qualified candidates)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 5 years of teaching/research/industrial experience with published work of high quality.

One post of Assistant Professor shall be reserved for Physically Handicapped (PH) Category
PB=Pay Band, AGP= Academic Grade Pay

Application should be accompanied with non-refundable fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- in case of SC/ST) in shape of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIPER payable at Mohali/Chandigarh.

Application duly filled in prescribed form should be sent to Director, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Sector-67, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali)-160062.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The maximum age limit and eligibility conditions shall be counted as on closing date for receipt of applications.

2. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. The Institute reserves the right to place reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for interview.

3. Institute reserves the right to withdraw advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason. Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill any post(s) and its decision in this regard shall be final.

4. The competent authority may relax experience and age for exceptionally meritorious candidates as per Institute rules.

5. The candidates, who had already applied for the posts of Professor published vide Advt. No.18/2012, will also be considered and they need not apply again unless they have any new information to make available.

6. In case no suitable candidate(s) is/are found for higher faculty post(s) (i.e. Professor and Associate Professor), lower faculty post(s) (i.e. Assistant Professor) may be offered.

7. The process of selection may include presentation / seminar / test / interview or as to be decided by the Selection Committee.

8. Envelope containing the application form must be superscribed with ‘Application for the post of ________ (DISCIPLINE) (whichever is applied should be clearly mentioned)’.

9. In case a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post or for more than one discipline, he / she shall have to apply separately & fill separate application forms and send in separate envelops along with the requisite fee.

10. The applicants serving in Government / Semi-Government / Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous organizations must send their application on the prescribed format alongwith relevant documents ‘Through proper channel’, failing which the same will not be considered.

11. Incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (self attested copies of degrees / certificates / marks sheets / experience certificates / caste certificate / document(s) certifying date of birth, reprint of important publications etc.) will be out-rightly rejected.

12. Application forms are available at the Institute’s website <www.niper.gov.in>. The candidate(s), who fulfill the eligibility criteria, may submit the application(s) on the prescribed application form alongwith latest passport size photograph and prescribed fee in the shape of Demand Draft favouring Director, NIPER, payable at Mohali / Chandigarh

13. Reservation policy will be as per Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid latest caste certificate as per guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.

14. The application form without prescribed fees may lead to cancellation of candidature. Candidates shall have to produce original testimonials at the time of interview, failing which they interview may not be allowed.

15. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF CANDIDATURE.

16. The names, addresses and occupations of three referees MUST be given in the application form and they should be familiar with your recent work and at least one of them should be your superior. The nature of past and present duties is required to be mentioned in detail.

17. Request for change of mailing address or e-mail address during the process of recruitment will not be entertained under any circumstances. The application form is required to be filled up in candidate’s own legible handwriting.

18. All appointments are contractual in nature for a period of five (05) years or attaining the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier. The same is renewable depending upon performance and mutual consent. The contract system is likely to be abolished.

19. No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.

20. The last date for receipt of application forms is 13-08-2013 (for applicants from India) & 28-08-2013 (for applicants from abroad).

21. The Institute will NOT be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay / loss of application / document sent in transit. Late applications may not be considered.
