The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit Research Associate and Project Assistants on temporary basis to work in various sponsored projects in this Institute as per details given below. Apart from the candidate selected in the project, a panel will be made, which will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview or another interview is conducted by the Institute for recruitment of similar positions in future, whichever is earlier.

Research Associate - (02 position) for DBT/DST funded Project
Essential Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Genetic Engineering, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Animal Sciences, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Chemical Sciences/Environmental Science, with sufficient working experience in Immunology/Molecular Biology/peptide synthesis.
Desirable: Practical experience in handling small experimental animals, mammalian tissue culture, working with pathogens like Mycobacterium tuberculosis, computational biology and sufficient exposure of analytical/ immune clinical techniques.
Stipend: - Rs. 22,000/-plus HRA @20%
Age limit : - 35 years as on 08.01.2013
(Relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/woman will be as per GOI Rules).
Research Associate – (01 position) for CSIR Network Project
Essential Qualification: Ph.D with specialization in Organic synthesis or Chemistry of Natural Products.
Desirable: Asymmetric synthesis, total synthesis of natural molecules, structure elucidation of natural products.
Stipend:- Rs. 22,000/-plus HRA @20%
Age limit :- 35 years as on 08.01.2013
The engagement as a Research Associate/Sr.Research Fellow/Project Assistant in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice. Total duration of project assistantship in CSIR Laboratories is maximum of 5 years. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 05 years as a Research Associate. Please note that it is not an IMTECH/CSIR appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit or any position. Number of positions may vary.

(Sharp) in the Seminar Hall of this Institute along with complete bio-data duly signed and Original certificates together with latest passport size photograph affixed on it and also enclosing photocopies of certificates/testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification/ experience etc. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
Note: Thesis submitted candidates and result awaited candidates are not eligible for interview.
