Job Description:
Responsible for leading the India and Regional innovation efforts to develop and implement short and long term new product innovation strategies to effectively support commercialization, profit margin growth, and business plan objectives for assigned product(s). Additional responsibilities include customer and end user insights in the Asia Pacific market, as well as supporting the regional innovation team’s strategy development, financial opportunity assessment, and project management.

Primary Responsibilities:
Leads new product Insights & Ideation (Stage 1) process on prioritized business unit initiatives.
1. Drives customer insights that will help to refine key customer benefits and needs within the region’s current brand platforms.
2. Leads strategic new category assessments to outline core consumer insights and unmet needs, market environment, and opportunity for defendable value creation.
3. Works with Global Brand Marketing and Regional Business Leadership to validate product pipeline insights and strategies for key programs in the region's core brands.
4. Interacts with Discovery, Research, and Development teams to stay current on existing technology opportunities and their fit to regional market needs.
5. Coordinates closely with Brand Marketing on existing platform innovation strategy.


Leads the commercial Concept Refinement & Validation (Stage 2) of prioritized product ideas.
1. Works directly with business unit marketing teams to refine and validate local customer needs and build advocacy for projects to increase alignment, size, and scope.
2. Assesses the business proposition including customer needs, competitive landscape, value proposition, preliminary financial opportunity, and other key parameters.
3. Interacts with R&D, Medical, Regulatory, and Operations to refine insights toward market-prioritized needs and key aspects of the Verbal Product Model.
4. Leads the development of new opportunity project deliverables and financial input.

Leads the commercial Readiness (Stage 3) of prioritized product ideas.
1. Works directly with business unit marketing teams, finance, R&D, Medical, Regulatory and Operations to plan and prepare product for launch.
a. Define final product, claims and positioning.
b. Create marketing / selling plan for key consumer and HCP sales channels.
c. Finalize P&L by validating volumetrics, cost of goods, supply chain capital estimates, marketing expenses.


• Contributes to regional best practice in commercial market opportunity refinement and valuation. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
• Responsible to deliver Insights & Ideation (Stage 1), commercial Concept Refinement & Validation (Stage 2), and launch readiness (Stage 3) for new product innovation priorities, and representing the overall portfolio of innovation initiatives with senior commercial and cross-functional leadership.
• Has budget responsibility for forecasting and controlling market research and travel spending to deliver Innovation objectives for the Brand.
• Works directly with marketing to coordinate strategic recommendations and represent the business needs of the Brand for product innovation to drive business growth.
• Leads large projects; may lead strategic cross-category projects.
• Reports to the Head of Marketing Innovation, Asia Pacific.

Candidate Profile:
Qualifications
Has a strong grasp of core marketing concepts and applies them with great effectiveness.
• Strong analytical skills including business and financial management.
• Demonstrated effective leadership competencies.
• Experience managing functional teams to deliver overall group goals
• Demonstrated success and leadership in project management
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact directly with senior commercial leadership to drive strategy and decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.
Minimum of 15+ years brand marketing experience with launching products in consumer and healthcare products industry.

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred.
