MSD Wellcome Trust Hilleman Laboratories (Hilleman Labs), is a joint venture between Merck & Co., Inc. (which operates in India as MSD Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.) and Wellcome Trust (which is a UK based research charity).

Job Description:
Hilleman Labs seeks Formulation Scientist(s) with specific experience in formulation of vaccines and/or biologics.
Aligned with organization’s vision of providing easy-to- deliver vaccines for emerging world, this individual will need to bring a comprehensive knowledge of biochemistry principles and procedures in order to do so, creating stable and cost-effective solutions. In doing so, s/he will work along with team of scientists to develop a candidate vaccine/s from Preclinical stage to Phase II clinical development.
Major Responsibilities
- This individual would specifically work with a team and be responsible to:
- Evaluation of excipients, bulking agents and buffers for vaccine antigens which will result in a thermostable product
- Evaluation of various formulation-focused properties of the antigen.
- Understand interactions of the antigen with its environment
- Evaluation of various vaccine stabilization technologies
- Development of delivery systems for candidate vaccine
- Troubleshooting and de-risking possible obstacles.
Candidate Profile:
The individual should have 6-12 years of relevant experience, with at least 4-5 years in specific biologics formulation space. Small molecule formulation experience will not be accepted.
A distinguished academic background, demonstrated by a doctorate degree in biochemistry / biotechnology or related field
A track record of having successfully delivered technologically complex projects, and leading and managing these from end to end.
Experience of having worked in a similar global culture environment as one offered at Hilleman Laboratories would be desirable.
