KMSCL is a fully owned Government Corporation for providing services to the various health care institutions under the department of Family Welfare as per Section 67 of Companies Act; 1956. The company was incorporated on 28th December 2007. One of the key objectives of the KMSCL is to act as the central procurement agency for all essential drugs and equipments for all public healthcare institutions under the department.
Kerala Medical Services Corporation Ltd (KMSCL) is a company established by the Govt. of Kerala in 2007 with the objective of promoting access to medicines to the society and to ensure scientific and cost effective methods and procedure in procurement, storage, distribution and inventory management of medicines, surgical and other hospital items including major equipment like CT and MRI scans required for the public health facilities of the state. KMSCL is the management agency for 108 Ambulance Services. Through Karunya Community Pharmacy Services, KMSCL is providing branded medicines at subsidised/ lower prices to the patients as per the recent initiative of the State Government.
By this time KMSCL could initiate a number of innovative activities which are being adopted by other Indian State Governments and similar Corporations. Now KMSCL is in the process of strengthening its Research activities with the objective of making the Corporation more efficient, transparent and strong.

KMSCL REQUIRES RESEARCH ASSOCIATE TRAINEES IN PHARMACY PRACTICE AS NOTED BELOW.
Essential Qualification:
First class M. Pharm (Pharmacy Practice) / Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree with valid registration in the State Pharmacy Council.
Desirable:
Previous experience and/ publications/ presentations/ in pharmacy practice areas like drug policies, dispensing practices,EDL/RDU, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical care, drug information, pharmacovigilance, inventory control, drug use evaluation.etc.
Training Period: Six months. (Extendable to twelve months, if needed)

Stipend:
The research trainees will be given a monthly stipend of Rs.12000/- (Rupees Twelve thousand only) during the training period.
Future prospects:
Those who prove their efficiency, skills and flair for scientific research and writings during the training period will be considered for future posts like Asst. Managers and/ or permitted to carry forward other research projects with the support of funding agencies, if available. Those trainees who manage to register for PhD/ M.Phil programs of Universities in Kerala or other approved Indian Universities will be provided with the facilities of KMSCL and Karunya Community Pharmacy Services to pursue their work, if the topics of their research works are approved/ accepted by KMSCL.
During the training period they have to take up projects and assignments related to pharmacy practice activities having various research components like data / information collection from various sources, their critical analysis, interpretation, SWOT analysis and presentation/ publication/dissemination.
