Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI) originally proposed to be named as Central Glass & Silicate Research Institute is one of the first four laboratories decided to be set up under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, the other three being National Chemical Laboratory,Pune; National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and Central Fuel Research Institute, Dhanbad. Even though it started functioning in a limited way in 1944, the Institute was formally inaugurated on August 26, 1950.
Post: Senior Project Fellow
A Walk-in-Interview will be held on 10.04.2013 at 11-00 AM at this Institute to engage bonafide Indian citizens for one position of Senior Project Fellow for working in a project entitled “Development of novel CSIR technologies for manufacturing tailored and patient specific bio-ceramic implants and bio-medical devices at affordable cost (BIOCERM)”, tenable at CGCRI, Kolkata.
Essential Qualifications: 1st Class M.Sc. (Chemistry/Materials Science/Bio-technology) & one publication in SCI Journal and should have completed at least 2 years of post M.Sc. Research experience.
Or
1st Class M.Tech. (Ceramic Engg./Bio-medical Engg./Bio-technology)
Or
M.Pharma or equivalent degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with at least 60% marks.
Desirable: Experience in culture and maintenance of different cell lines (in vitro bioassay)/handling of sophisticated equipments e.g. High Performance Liquid chromatograph etc.
Stipend: Rs.18,000/- + H.R.A as admissible per month.
Age: The upper age limit (as on 01.04.2013) shall be 32 years, which is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBCs.
Tenure: Initially for period of 2 years or co-terminus with the duration of the project whichever is earlier.
Interested candidates are requested to attend the above Walk-in-Interview along with Application Form & Bio-Data in the prescribed format as given herein under, duly filled in all the columns enclosing self attested copies of each supporting documents/certificates. The original certificates should also be brought with him/her at the time of interview for verification. The candidates should carry copies of their project thesis with them, if any. The candidates should report at least one hour before the scheduled time of interview for verification of documents. Incomplete applications without prescribed format and supporting documents will be summarily rejected. However, CSIR-CGCRI reserves the right not to fill up the post, if it so desires. The decision of the Institute shall be final in this behalf. Interim enquiries in this respect will not be entertained.
