The institute has on its staff highly qualified and experienced scientists working in the field of Biological, biochemical, Chemical and Physical sciences placed in long established departments of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics, and the research sections on plant Molecular & Cellular Genetics, Animal Physiology, Immunotechnology and Environmental science.

Post: Junior Research Fellow

Bose Institute, Kolkata, invites application on plain paper from the Indian Citizens, for one temporary post of Junior Research Fellow on a JRF-ship of Rs.16,000/- p.m. for CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF / ICMR-JRF qualified candidates, Rs.12,000/-p.m. for CSIR-UGC-NET LS / GATE qualified candidates, plus admissible HRA and Medical benefit for both, in the DBT sponsored project entitled, “Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bioinformatics at Bose Institute”, under the guidance of Prof. Pinakpani Chakrabarti, Bioinformatics Centre. The project is tenable upto 31.03.2017.

Essential Qualification : 1st class M.Sc. degree in any stream of Biological / Computer Sciences with CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF / ICMR-JRF / DBT-JRF or CSIRUGC- NET-LS / GATE qualification.

Desirable Qualification : Exposure in Bioinformatics or computational genomics. Work experience in mysql and good programming skill in Perl and C.

Age : Below 28 years as on the day on which the application is made (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only, as per rule).
